Bath Jam Sessions

What is it?

A regular session for musicians of all abilities, hosted by some of the Bath area’s top musicians and teachers. Each session will comprise both live performance workshops and an open jam.

Whilst it’s great fun to practice at home, one of the main reasons for learning to play an instrument or sing is so you can get in a band and perform in public. The Bath Jam Sessions performance workshops are designed to help you get on stage and interact with other musicians with confidence.

The evening will be based around an open jam session where everyone will get the chance to play on stage in an informal setting. Coaching and guidance will be on hand for those who haven’t played in a group setting before. This is a great opportunity to meet new musicians, form bands, experience the thrill of playing with new people and generally having fun!

We will always have professional musicians available for advice and help, and any more experienced or pro musicians will always be welcome to join the jam sessions or help out.

When is it?

Currently every Tuesday evening between 7.45pm and 11.00pm

Who is it for?

Absolutely any musician of any age and ability!

We are specifically trying to encourage those who are either new to their instrument, or are returning after a few years and would relish the opportunity to play and meet other musicians with no pressure. However, we would also welcome more experienced musicians to ensure a good cross-section of the music community. The important thing is that everyone gets a chance to play irrespective of age or ability

What should I bring?

Guitarists and bassists – bring your guitar

Drummers – bring your sticks

Singers – bring a sense of humour, there will be loads of guitarists there… :-)

How much does it cost?

Anyone wishing to play will need to pay £3 – it just helps us cover our costs, and we definitely don’t profit from this!!
